Aram, Aram

Directed by Christopher Chambers  |  USA  |  2015  |  79 min  |  M

An emotionally powerful coming-of-age drama set in Little Armenia. 12 year-old Armenian boy, Aram, is suddenly uprooted from his home and sent to live with his Grandfather in America. He falls in with the wrong crowd and struggles to navigate the clash between old-world values and new-school Armenian identity.

A striking look into the Armenian community in Los Angeles, with a distinct indie-filmmaking feel and moving performances. The film was screened in the first edition of the Armenian Film Festival Australia in 2016 and remains just as impactful 10 years on.

ANNIVERSARY SCREENING: In honour of our 10th Anniversary, AFFA revisits a selection of unforgettable films from the past decade – stories that moved us, connected us and continue to resonate today. Aram, Aram was the first film to screen at AFFA at the inaugural festival in 2016.
