Featuring unique rug-inspired motifs, blending symbols of Armenian storytelling, cinema, and the Festival’s place within the Australian community.

Supporting the Next Generation of Armenian Filmmakers

Funds raised by the AFFA x KULBAS collaboration will support student filmmakers at the Yerevan State Theatre and Film Institute, to help cover essential production or post-production costs—such as equipment, editing, sound design, or festival submissions. The recipient of the funds will be selected in collaboration with the Institute and will be announced on this website.

Directly translating to “socks” in Armenian, Kulbas is a registered NGO that intertwines Armenian history, culture and narratives with traditional Armenian rug designs to create contemporary sock styles, with proceeds supporting local charities.
