General Information
Established in 2016, the Australian Armenian Film Festival is Australia’s only national festival dedicated to Armenian and Armenian diaspora cinema. The volunteer-run festival showcases internationally acclaimed feature films, documentaries and short films while promoting cultural exchange through filmmaker Q&As, special events and community engagement.
The Armenian Film Festival’s 10th Anniversary Edition will be held across Australia in 2026, with screenings in Sydney (11-27 September), Adelaide (10-11 October), Perth (24-25 October), and Melbourne (30 October-1 November).
Festival venues include Event Cinemas Top Ryde (Sydney), Palace Nova Eastend (Adelaide), Event Cinemas Inaloo (Perth), and Village Cinemas Century City (Melbourne).
The Sydney program is now available. The Adelaide, Perth and Melbourne programs will be announced soon. 2026 also marks the first time the Armenian Film Festival will be presented in Perth, bringing the festival to Western Australian audiences for the very first time. No. The 2026 program features films in a range of languages, including Armenian, English, French, Russian and Turkish. While some films are presented in English, all non-English language films are screened with English subtitles. Individual film language and subtitle details can be found on each film’s booking page.
All films that are not in English have English subtitles.

Yes, parking is available at or near all festival venues.
- Sydney (Event Cinemas Top Ryde): Parking is available at Top Ryde City Shopping Centre. Cinema patrons may be eligible for parking validation.
- Adelaide (Palace Nova Eastend): Paid parking is available nearby, including UPark Frome Street and other East End car parks. Limited street parking is also available in the surrounding area.
- Perth (Event Cinemas Innaloo): Free parking is available in the on-site cinema and shopping centre car park, including accessible parking spaces.
- Melbourne (Village Cinemas Century City): Ample free parking is available at Century City Walk.
Please plan your journey in advance and review the parking information for your chosen venue before attending, as parking availability, fees and conditions may vary.

Attending the festival
The Sydney Festival will host:
- Opening Night: Vazgen: The Last Sparapet – Armenia’s highest-grossing film of 2025, the inspiring story of national hero Vazgen Sargsyan.
- Ladies Night – Thursday 17 September, 6:30 PM
- Flix & Mix for Under 35’s on Friday 25 September, 7:00 PM
- Cinema & Soul: Krista Marina Live on Sunday 20 September, 4:00 PM. A screening of A Winter’s Song followed by a live performance in the bar by the film’s star.
- 10th Anniversary Special Event: A screening of Lion (2016), also celebrating it’s 10th Anniversary celebrating the films enduring legacy, followed by a special filmmaker Q&As
- Closing Night & Festival Awards: Outliving Shakespeare – a powerful documentary, with filmmaker Inna Sahakyan attending in person. Includes Award Ceremony.
Melbourne Events to be announced.
The gala night gives cinema patrons an opportunity to attend the pre-screening party, the film screening and the party continues after the film. If you choose to attend just the film, the ticket cost remains the same.
Yes, the 2026 festival will feature Q&A sessions with directors after selected screenings. Allow 15-30 minutes at the end of these sessions for Q&A.

Bookings and Tickets
Tickets can be purchased online at armenianfilmfestival.com.au/tickets. Visit the Tickets page for pricing, ticket packages and booking information.
Yes. Booking fees range from $1.50 to $4.50 per ticket, however all advertised ticket prices are INCLUSIVE of booking fees. Note All major credit cards accepted. Amex & Paypal will incur additional fees.
Often sessions sell out, so we recommend purchasing tickets in advance to avoid disappointment. Tickets may be available at the venue, subject to availability. The Box Office opens 1 hour before each screening, and online ticket sales close 30 minutes before session start time. While we anticipate door sales for most sessions, this cannot be guaranteed. Please check our social media channels for the latest updates. All sessions start on time, so we recommend arriving early.
The festival welcomes attendees of all ages. However, some films may have age restrictions based on their classification rating. Please check each film’s rating before purchasing tickets for children. Children will not be permitted to attend screenings classified M or higher. We recommend reviewing the classification details for each film prior to booking.
The below sessions are suitable for children. PG (Parental Guidance) means parental guidance is recommended for younger viewers.
Poqr Mher is a children’s animation, rated PG. Suitable for children aged 8+.
A Winter’s Song, In Search of Light, Precious Boys, Full House: Landing are rated PG and are suitable for children aged 12+. There are discounted family tickets available for these sessions, for families with children 15 and under.
Boosters are available at the cinema.
Our ticketing policy aligns with the requirements of each screening venue. Generally, babies under 12 months may attend free of charge if they remain seated on an adult’s lap throughout the screening. Please note that prams/strollers are not permitted inside the theatre due to space constraints.
