Our Patrons

The Armenian Film Festival in Australia has become not only a cultural staple for the local community but also a significant event within the broader Australian film industry.
This past year, the Festival proudly stepped onto the global stage. We can all feel rightly proud that our very own co-founders, Hourie Demirjian and Margaret Chater, were invited to Armenia last December to speak about the Festival—sharing insights into the planning process and behind-the-scenes logistics.
The Festival’s success is a testament to the tireless, year-round efforts of the committee and volunteers. Now in its ninth year, it continues to surprise and delight us! Congratulations to everyone involved—I look forward to seeing what the future holds!

I’m honoured to continue as Patron of the Armenian Film Festival Australia.
This year, I’m especially delighted to see the introduction of an awards program—an exciting new chapter that recognises the exceptional talent of filmmakers bringing Armenian stories to life. These awards not only celebrate creativity but also inspire the next generation of storytellers.
AFFA is more than a film festival—it’s a celebration of culture, a bridge between communities, and a powerful platform for connection and understanding. Each year, it deepens the ties between Armenia and Australia through the universal language of cinema.
To the volunteers, sponsors, and audiences—thank you. Your passion and dedication ensure Armenian voices are heard, valued, and celebrated.
Here’s to another remarkable year of cinema, community, and cultural pride.
