OPENING NIGHT GALA - Sydney
Join us for our Opening Night Gala as we commence the 9th Edition of the festival. Enjoy the glamour of our Red Carpet and immerse yourself in all things Armenian. Armenian food, Armenian wine, live music, traditional taraz and more!
The opening night film is the biopic drama Monsieur Aznavour, an exquisite french production about Armenian-French legendary chanson Charles Aznavour. The night concludes with the talented Charlie Chech singing Aznavour Live!
- 6:30pm – 7:15pm Cocktail party, with Armenian food, Armenian wine and Sayat Nova band
- 7:30pm – Formalities and screening of Monsieur Aznavour (popcorn included)
- 10:15pm – After the screening enjoy a live performance by Charlie Chech and delicious desserts
Charlie Chech – An award-winning singer and performer, has received rave reviews for his performances and sell-out shows. A lover of jazz and crooning, he is inspired by the likes of Sinatra, Elvis and Buble. Charlie will perform some of Aznavour’s greatest hits. The perfect way to end the Gala Night!

Meet the Winemaker & Tasting Experience

A unique immersion into the blossoming Armenian wine industry. Following the screening of Cup of Salvation, meet the winemaker Vahe Keushguerian from Armenia. Hear about the oldest winery in the world, the Areni cave, Armenia’s indigenous grapes and taste 4 wine varieties, each paired with delicous finger foods.
