Film submissions for the 8th Edition of the Armenian Film Festival Australia are now closed.

Key dates:

Submissions open 1 March 2024. 
Round 1 submissions close 27 March 2024. 
Round 2 (final) submissions close 16 April 2024. 
All submissions will be notified by 16 May 2024.
The festival will take place from 16-25 August 2024 in Sydney and 6-8 September 2024 in Melbourne.

There is no submission fee.

In submitting your film for screening at the 2024 AFFA, you confirm that you have read and agreed to the following terms and conditions:

  • Submission of your film does not guarantee acceptance. Formal acceptance notification will be provided by 16th May 2024.
  • All films submitted must have an Armenian theme, either the filmmaker, the story line, the actor or made in Armenia.  All films in Armenian or other languages must have sub-titles in English.
  • A film will not be accepted until all of the required material is submitted. Up to 60 seconds of the film may be used by the festival for promotional purposes.
  • The AFFA cannot return any material submitted with the exception of DCP film copies sent on a hard drive.
  • The AFFA may pass your personal contact details to various media contacts for interviews with your consent.


We will notify you by email once your submission has been accepted at which time you must supply the following:

  • DCP copy of the film and KDM files, if used for the film, MP4 and other suitable film formats are also accepted.
  • A Blu-ray copy of the film must be supplied if a DCP disk is being sent via courier.
  • KDM files (if used) must allow time for testing and screening of films covering the period 1 August – 8 September 2024.
  • Film Trailer between 60 – 90 seconds with English subtitles as well as a teaser that is no more than 30 seconds are required at time of submission.
  • Press kit which should include a synopsis of the film, filmmaker and cast information head shots of filmmakers and any other information that may be relevant to the film.  
  • Still images from the film are also required and will be used in our social media platforms to promote the film.
  •  The film poster must be a hi-resolution file and if available in a layered file.
